Something I often see is someone dropping into a design community just to post “I am new, how do I get started?”
A common way for many to deal with complexity in our lives by removing or hiding it. There is this unrealistic expectation that there should be an “easy 10 step process for getting into X industry”… when most things in life have a long path to mastery.
I touch on this topic a bit in No dumb questions... but there are times you should google it first, but please PLEASE do a bit of research. It is not possible for someone simply answer this question of “how to do UX” with a simple paragraph of text. That being said, there are tons of resources out there that can point you in the right direction.
I know many people are seeking advice specific to their personal situation but the reality is that in the beginning, the basics apply to just about everyone. Doing a bit of homework before you start asking around will show that you are invested in this journey and inspire others to help you.
This is a topic covered much more in depth by others so I will just provide some resources to check out.
